Separate control from checking

A ground control point constrains the model. A checkpoint independently tests the result. Do not use the same point to claim independent accuracy.

There is no universal number

The right control plan depends on the project specification, site geometry, terrain, camera, flight design and required confidence.

Use PPK to improve the starting positions

Accurate camera positions can reduce dependence on dense control, but the deliverable still needs an appropriate verification strategy.

Plan before flying

Agree the acceptance method with the client or survey authority, place checkpoints across the site and report the measured residuals rather than repeating a nominal aircraft specification.
